Last night we had our first Sneaker Art Show, held in a private gallery on 1158 Dean, complete with film crews, red carpeting, DJ, drinks - the works! It was very successful, let me stress the emphasis on SUCCESSFUL! We had people turn up even before we were set to start at 6pm!!
By the time we hit 9 o'clock we literally took over the block!
We had several artists who provided their work actually travel long distances to attend the show! Among them were Anna Balboa all the way from Miami, and Gaby Zwann from Amsterdam (you may remember him from an earlier interview I did with him, click here to see it). Pink Eye was also in attendance, as well as Mulero and Mannie.

Sam our Founder and CEO simply charmed the crowds as she talked about the many artists who attended, as well as our official opening date - we are scheduled to launch the site Wednesday and the boutique should be open December/January Q4 2009.
We also had a caricaturist sit down and draw for around 3 hrs, to the delight of many people!
Anyway, needless to say, we had a huge turn out - at least 300-400 on a rotational basis - for our first event. We will be at Rock the Block next weekend in DUMBO so be sure to come out for that! Don't forget - keep your calendar locked for the 2nd Saturday in August 2010 for Anivram's Sneaker Art Show Round Two!
